Central Government holidays 2026: Delhi / New Delhi offices

Scope: these 17 dates are the published Central Government administrative-office list for Delhi / New Delhi. They are not a universal mandatory holiday list for every private employer, factory, bank or state office. Check subsequent official directions and lunar-date announcements where relevant.

Gazetted, restricted and company holidays are different

The source lists restricted holidays separately. Do not count every restricted holiday as an additional compulsory closure. A private establishment must identify applicable state national/festival-holiday requirements, establishment law, notifications and its approved policy. A bank holiday under a different instrument is not automatically a paid company holiday.

Map each establishment to its state, obtain the applicable notification, check consultation, submission or display requirements, approve the calendar and connect it to attendance and payroll. Retain the source and any later changes with the workplace record.

Frequently requested 2026 dates

In this Central Government list, Dussehra is 20 October, Diwali is 8 November, Guru Nanak’s Birthday is 24 November and Christmas is 25 December. Use the dated table for its stated scope, not as approval of a private company’s holiday obligations.
