The amendment to the Tamil Nadu Shops Act; operative commencement must be separately established
Enactment and commencement are different
The Act substitutes Chapter IX and amends section 49. It does not replace the paid-leave entitlement text in section 25.
Publication of the amending Act is evidence of enactment. Before relying on a penalty or adjudication procedure, establish the commencement notification and the applicable implementing rules.
