Big Update from ESIC – Amnesty Scheme 2025 Approved

The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), in its 196th meeting held at Shimla under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, has approved the Amnesty Scheme 2025.

Scheme Duration: 1st October 2025 to 30th September 2026

Key Features:

  • One-time dispute resolution mechanism under the ESI Act.
  • Settlement of ad-hoc assessments by paying contributions & interest (damages waived).
  • Withdrawal of cases on payment of dues with only 10% of disputed damages payable.
  • Applicable for cases filed up to 31st March 2025.
  • Regional & Sub-Regional Officers empowered for faster processing.

With nearly 27,000 pending cases, this scheme provides employers with an excellent opportunity to resolve disputes, reduce litigation, and strengthen compliance with ESIC.

This move will ease the compliance burden, reduce litigation, and promote a more employer-friendly approach while enhancing social security.

Employers with pending ESIC disputes are advised to avail the benefits under this scheme during the notified period.
